We want to help

Schools are expected to do more and more with limited resources. We want to help. A school principal once told me that positive adult relationships are what students need the most.

Our mentors commit to the long-term presence that develops social and emotional learning skills along with vocational-opportunity dreaming. We want our student cohorts to grow slowly into leaders and examples of how others can move forward.

Our structure is simple. We want to provide bi-weekly in-school mentoring over an extended lunch session with a cohort of up to 5 students. Here is an example of one of our mentoring guides.

Process: We partner with school administrators to find eligible students/families to apply for a particular cohort. Once students use (with parental approval), Forward Mentoring, a selection committee will perform interviews to discern the best mix of students for a cohort. Each cohort will be unique, and our pilot cohort at Richards High School will journey with students from their freshman year through their high school graduation.

There are far more moving parts, so please don’t hesitate to contact daniel@forwardmentoring.org with any questions.
